Al Horford's second tenure with the Celtics might come to an end soon, with the Warriors reportedly looking like a strong suitor to land hin.
Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens said it’s “highly unlikely" that the 39-year-old center will return to Boston when asked at a Tuesday press conference.
The Boston Celtics are still awaiting an answer from Al Horford regarding his future, both with the Celtics and in the NBA. There have been rumors suggesting that Horford could decide to hang them up, which would be somewhat surprising considering he still showed a year ago to be a very serviceable player who can help a contender.
The Boston Celtics have made it clear that they would like to bring Al Horford back next season. Losing both Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kornet makes it even more important that they do so.
The Celtics have already lost two key players this offseason. They might be on their way to losing a third. The Celtics traded away Jrue Holiday to the Trail Blazers and Kristaps Porzingis to the Hawks this week to shed some money, and now, not re-signing Al Horford is a real possibility.
