President Donald Trump said a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas could be reached as soon as this week, following a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. A senior Israeli official told Reuters a deal may be reached within one or two weeks.

Israeli officials said on Tuesday that gaps can be bridged between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas at peace talks in Qatar, though it may take more than a few days to reach a deal to free hostages and halt fighting.
Netanyahu said, “I believe there’s a good chance we will reach a ceasefire, and it will bring us closer to the goal I have set.”
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a controversial U.S.-backed aid distribution initiative supported by Israel, is currently the primary method for Palestinians in devastated Gaza to access supplies in designated spots after Israel lifted its aid blockade in mid-May.
