The North Andover police officer who was shot​ by a member of her own department as she was served with a restraining order is facing criminal charges.

Kelsey Fitzsimmons faces three felony charges, including assault to murder. The North Andover officer was shot as three colleagues attempted to serve her a restraining order.

Instead of de-escalation, she was met with deadly force,” said Timothy Bradl, the attorney for Kelsey Fitzsimmons.
