Sony are in talks to buy Kadokawa, the parent company of Elden Ring developer From Software. Sony is eyeing up the company as a hefty snack because they want the various manga and anime owned by Kadokawa,

Sony Group Corp. is in discussions to acquire Japanese content publisher Kadokawa Corp., Reuters reported, citing two unidentified people familiar with the matter.

According to Reuters, Sony is thinking of buying Kadokawa, which would have massive ramifications for both games and anime. From a gaming standpoint, the big acquisition would be FromSoftware, of which Kadokawa has a controlling stake as of 2014.
