National team midfielder Rose Lavelle has been named the 2025 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year. Lavelle, who also plays for Gotham FC in the National Women's Soccer League, returned to the national team in June after recovering from ankle surgery and appeared in six matches with three goals and three assists.

The team doesn’t have a soccer field of their own, forcing them to find creative solutions for practice locations throughout their championship run.

One of women’s soccer’s biggest names is remaining in the United States and is becoming the highest-paid women’s soccer player in the world in one fell swoop. Trinity Rodman agreed to a new contract with the NWSL’s Washington Spirit to keep her with the team through 2028.
