THE ALL ENGLAND CLUB, WIMBLEDON — Coco Gauff is out of Wimbledon in the first round for the second time in three years, after a straight-sets defeat to Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine on No. 1 Court.

No. 2 seed Coco Gauff was shockingly upset at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships on Tuesday as Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska defeated the Roland Garros champion 7-6(3), 6-1.

Players walking to play at Wimbledon’s second-biggest stadium, known as No. 1 Court, are passing through a hallway renovated this year to display memorabilia and photos from the arena’s history.

Australia’s Nick Kyrgios believes that Iga Swiatek will now be considered a firm favourite to lift the US Open after her incredible run at Wimbledon. The 24-year-old lifted her sixth Grand Slam on Saturday as she defeated America’s Amanda Anisimova in straight sets with a score of 6-0,

No. 2 seed Coco Gauff was stunned in the first round at Wimbledon on Tuesday, falling to Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska, 7-6, 6-1. Gauff, 21, was coming off a win at the French Open for her second Grand Slam title. The loss snaps a streak of making it to the fourth round in seven straight grand slams for Gauff.

Keen to avoid repeating a past mistake, Aryna Sabalenka struck a diplomatic tone immediately after her three-set defeat to Amanda Anisimova in the Wimbledon semifinals.

Former champions Coco Gauff and Novak Djokovic will headline the Cincinnati Open which runs Aug. 5-18 tournament at the Lindner Family Tennis Center. The world’s No. 1 ranked players, Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner, will both come back to defend their titles. Both are in the Wimbledon semifinals this week.

It’s another frustrating outing at the Championships for the American, who is yet to progress beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon. SW19 shortcomings aside, Gauff has at least had a reason to celebrate in the last few weeks, given her brother has been shining on the sporting scene instead.
