PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Oneil Cruz exited his most recent game earlier than expected after an injury. Cruz, facing the Minnesota Twins at Target Field on July 12, hit a single in the top of the eighth inning, but limped afterwards, still getting to first base.
The reigning AL Cy Young winner and the best young pitcher in baseball will be on the mound for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game next Tuesday at Truist Park in Atlanta. Detroit Tigers lefty Tarik Skubal and Pittsburgh Pirates righty Paul Skenes have been named the All-Star Game starting pitchers. Fox's Saturday night MLB broadcast made the announcement.

Former Major League Baseball pitcher Joe Coleman has died, according to the Associated Press. He was 78 years old. Coleman, who finished off his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, died in his sleep on Wednesday in Jamestown, Tennessee, his son Casey told the AP.
