Sales at the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop in Hyannis were $12,500 for the month of June, according to Auxiliary President Leslie Gillis. The Auxiliary has donated millions to the hospital since 1942 for laser surgical equipment, CAT scans, and expansions of cardiac care, breast cancer and radiation therapy suites and centers.

Two paddleboarders outside the swim area of Marine Biological Laboratory' s Stony Beach in Woods Hole saw a shark up close on July 4. According to an advisory Falmouth Town Manager Mike Renshaw released on July 9, the sighting occurred after 7 p.m. when town beach staff were no longer on duty.
