An investigation is underway after police said a man was shot and left to die on a street in Philadelphia's Port Richmond neighborhood overnight.

The man was discovered unconscious and unresponsive in the rear of the shop on Port Richmond Avenue near Catherine Street around 9:50 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Officers from the 24th District responded at approximately 1:37 a.m. to reports of a person with a gun in the area of Salmon and Monmouth Streets. Upon arrival, officers found the man lying unresponsive in the roadway in front of the 2900 block of Salmon Street.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices & Ice Cream in Port Richmond, a long-standing Staten Island dessert hub, reopened Sunday following a tragic incident at the store a day earlier. On Saturday morning at 9:50 a.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting an unresponsive man at 501 Port Richmond Ave.

Memphis Street, a charter school based in Port Richmond, is reviewing its legal options and still plans to reopen in the fall, a spokesperson said.

A 41-year-old man was found dead inside the iconic flagship store of summer-time treat purveyors Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices on Staten Island, police said.

Police said Tyree Ford was picketing on North Delaware Avenue when 41-year-old Damon Robinson hit him and his pregnant fiancée before driving away.
