Arsenal’s long search for a centre-forward is almost over, with the club on the brink an agreement with Sporting Lisbon to sign Viktor Gyokeres.

Arsenal are in the process of completing a deal to sign Viktor Gyokeres after taking final steps in negotiations with Sporting CP for the striker. Talks have been prolonged by Sporting president Frederico Varandas refusing to accept what Gyokeres believes was an agreement to leave this summer for €60million plus €10m of add-ons.

Arsenal are expected to pay an initial fee of £54.8million with £8.6m in add-ons to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP this summer, it has been claimed. Mikel Arteta's side have been long chasing a move for the Sweden international,
