Happy Friday! We wanted to share an update on the baby dolphin rescued last Sunday. He is still in critical condition but is now responding well to staff. MSU-CVM staff along with IMMS staff are now able to feed the baby “dolphin milk”. This specialized formula is supplemented with Menhaden fish oil, generously provided by Omega Protein, Inc. of Moss Point. A good hearted helicopter crew helped out a dolphin in distress in the Corpus Christi Bay last week. On March 6, the Redline Helicopter Tours landed along the bay to find the dolphin stuck in the sand bar. They contacted Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as soon as they landed.
